Beluntas, Medan Damansara, Kuala Lumpur This project is a private home for a family of four. We derived the architecture by taking inspiration of the Malaccan courtyard home, abstracting it to complement the surrounding neighbourhood. Our client’s brief was to have a spatially open layout that takes advantage of the tight site, an existing 2-storey terrace corner plot. The materiality of the house was predominantly enveloped by custom sized bricks from Jogjakarta and the use of Shanghai plaster, a signature feature that brings warmth and nostalgia to the client’s old childhood home.
